Vikramaditya Prakash

Dr. Vikramaditya Prakash is a Professor of Architecture at the University of Washington, holding adjunct appointments in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design and Planning. He serves as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Built Environments, previously leading roles as Associate Dean for External Affairs, Chair of Architecture, and Director of Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Programs. His research focuses on modernism, postcoloniality, global architectural history, and the intersections of fashion and architecture.

• Education: B.Arch from Chandigarh College of Architecture, India; M.A. and PhD in History of Architecture and Urbanism from Cornell University.

Key scholarly contributions include books such as Chandigarh’s Le Corbusier and A Global History of Architecture, translated into five languages. He directs the interdisciplinary Chandigarh Urban Lab and advises on public projects like the Seattle Center Board. His upcoming work One Continuous Line explores the art-architecture-urbanism nexus of Aditya Prakash.
