Viji Prakash is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of World Arts & Cultures/Dance at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). A world-renowned interpreter of Bharata Natyam (classical dance of South India), she has performed at major venues in the U.S. and India since age 4. She founded Shakti, a dance institute in Los Angeles, and served as its Artistic Director.

- Cultural Performance: Exploring intersections of Indian dance with global arts
- South Asian Studies: Through dance education and performance

- Best Dance Guru award (2000) from Music Academy Chennai, India
