Vieillard Vincent

Vieillard Vincent is the Team Leader of an immunology research group based at the CERVI building of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, affiliated with Sorbonne University's School of Medicine. His work focuses on dissecting the roles of innate (NK cells) and adaptive (T lymphocytes) immunity in human pathologies including viral infections, autoimmune diseases, psychiatric conditions, and cancer. His research bridges fundamental biology with translational strategies, such as vaccine development currently in clinical trials.

Research Interests:
1. Chronic Pathologies: Investigates NK and T cell roles in diseases like HIV, lupus, and anti-synthetase syndrome. Notably identified NKp44L ligand induction by HIV to enhance NK-mediated T cell lysis, informing vaccine design.
2. Emerging Viral Infections: Studies NK cell responses in Ebola, Zika, Lassa, and SARS-CoV-2, revealing adaptive NK cell clonal expansion and functional decoupling.
3. Cancer in Immunocompromised Patients: Explores immune checkpoint inhibitors' effects on tumor neoepitopes and viral reservoirs in HIV+ cancer patients.

Collaborations & Outputs:
Developed InnaVirVax/Minka biotech startup, filed patents, and participated in global clinical trials (e.g., Ebola, Lassa, SARS-CoV-2 studies in Gabon, Sierra Leone, Brazil). Published over 500+ articles, with highlighted works in EBioMedicine, Molecular Autism, and PLoS Pathogens.

Advising & Labs:
Mentors doctoral students (e.g., Anne Bourgarit, Sylvain Choquet) and leads a multidisciplinary team including CNRS researchers, clinicians, and postdocs. Utilizes advanced techniques like mass cytometry (CyTOF) and ELISPOT imaging to study immune cell dynamics.
