معرفی
Vidya Madhavan is the Donald Biggar Willett Professor of Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, affiliated with the Materials Research Lab. Her work focuses on condensed matter physics, particularly exploring quantum materials using advanced microscopy and spectroscopic techniques. She is renowned for studies on charge density waves, superconductivity, and topological phases in materials like UTe₂, GdTe₃, and graphene-based systems.
Her research interests span scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), electronic structure visualization, and the interplay of magnetism, superconductivity, and topology. Key contributions include atomic-scale imaging of magnetic order cascades, manipulation of Dirac gaps in antiferromagnets, and discovery of topological defects in charge density waves.
Recent publications highlight innovations in Floquet-Bloch manipulation of topological materials, strain-engineered graphene properties, and bulk-sensitive x-ray studies of superconductors. Over 70 peer-reviewed articles and 8 datasets reflect her experimental and collaborative approach to advancing quantum material science.
