Victoria Walsh is a Professor at the Royal College of Art (RCA) within the School of Arts & Humanities. She holds a PhD from Oxford Brookes University and MA degrees in Art History (Courtauld Institute) and Curating (RCA). Her career spans curation, research, and academia, with roles including Head of Public Programmes at Tate Britain (2005–2011) and project management for high-profile exhibitions like Tate Modern’s opening. Currently, she leads interdisciplinary research projects such as the EU-funded MeLA initiative, exploring museums in the context of migration, and contributes to Tate’s 'Art School Educated' project on UK art education.
Her research focuses on curatorial practice, museum studies, and interdisciplinary methodologies. Key projects include reconstructing the Independent Group’s 'Parallel of Life and Art' exhibition and co-editing publications like *Post-critical Museology: Theory and Practice in the Art Museum* (2012). She has supervised numerous research students and collaborates with institutions like MACBA (Barcelona) and Kingston University as an external examiner.
Victoria’s work bridges art history, visual culture, and social sciences, emphasizing practice-based research and critical engagement with contemporary cultural challenges.
