Dr. Victoria Spangler is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Hardin Simmons University (HSU), where she has also served as an adjunct professor intermittently over two decades. She holds a B.A. in Theatre from McMurry University (1982), an M.A. in Theatre from Texas A&M Commerce (1984), and a Ph.D. in Theatre from Texas Tech University (1993). Her expertise spans acting, directing, theatre management, and educational theatre, with a focus on youth-focused initiatives.
Dr. Spangler previously served as Executive Director of Young Audiences of Abilene, placing professional artists in schools, and spent 17 years as a Safe and Drug Free Schools Consultant at Region 14 in Texas, leading a theatre troupe creating programs on teen health issues. She has also taught at Cisco College and McMurry University. Her doctoral work, 'Teen Theatre: A Model for Addressing Risk Issues in Adolescents,' underpins her commitment to educational outreach.
Though no specific grants or awards are noted, her career reflects a dedication to combining theatre arts with community and youth development. She maintains affiliations with HSU's College of Arts and Media and remains active in theatre education.
