Dr. Victoria Revell is an Associate Professor in Translational Sleep and Circadian Physiology at the University of Surrey’s School of Biosciences, affiliated with the Surrey Sleep Research Centre. Her work focuses on circadian rhythms, sleep disruption, and interventions involving light and caffeine in clinical and operational settings. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and led studies on sleep monitoring technologies for older adults and dementia patients.
Research Interests:
- Age-related circadian changes and sleep patterns
- Impact of light environments on sleep quality
- Non-invasive sleep monitoring technologies
- Chronobiology of neurodegenerative diseases
Advising & Grants: Supervised PhD students Rachel Firth (2019–2022) and Katie O’Brien (2021–2022). Secured a £1.7m grant for dementia sleep research. Her work includes developing contactless sleep monitoring tools and light-based interventions.
Labs & Teams: Active in the Surrey Sleep Research Centre, collaborating on projects like the ENLIGHT checklist for light studies and the ‘Three Contactless Sleep Technologies’ validation initiative.
