Victoria Leonard is a Research Fellow at Coventry University's Research Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities and an Honorary Research Associate at Royal Holloway, University of London. She specializes in late antique and early medieval Mediterranean studies, focusing on historiography, Christianity, gender, and violence. Her work bridges classical scholarship with digital humanities, including projects on clerical networks and improving representation of women in Wikipedia.
Research Interests
Her research spans ancient historiography, patristic texts, gendered violence in antiquity, and the reception of classical works in early modern print cultures. Recent projects include editing Bodily Fluids in Antiquity (2021) and authoring Gendered Violence in the Roman Mediterranean (2026).

Advisory and Grants
Supervises PhD candidates on topics like classical pedagogy and gendered violence. Served as co-chair of the CUCD Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee (2020–2024) and founded the Women’s Classical Committee (UK).

Co-developed the Connected Clerics database and leads the International Orosian Network. Active on editorial boards for Bulletin of the Institute of Classical Studies and Gendered Violence book series.
