Victoria Cadman

Victoria Cadman is a Senior Lecturer in Operating Department Practice at Sheffield Hallam University's School of Health and Social Care, within the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences. She holds dual roles as Associate Editor for the Journal of Perioperative Practice and External Examiner. Her academic leadership includes serving as Admissions Lead and Course Lead for ODP programs.

Education: BSc (dual honours) in Biochemistry & Genetics, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Secondary Science), MSc in Advanced Professional Development, and ongoing PhD research on migrant women's cesarean section experiences.

Research Interests: Focused on health inequalities in maternity care, perioperative environment disparities, and advancing research capacity within the Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) profession. Her work includes developing evidence-based training models (e.g., 4-pillar practice-based learning framework) and conducting priority-setting research through Delphi studies. Recent projects explore cesarean birth disparities among migrant populations and undergraduate research teaching efficacy.

Publications: Over 15 peer-reviewed articles spanning surgical safety checklists, clinical education innovations, and migrant healthcare disparities, with a growing emphasis on ODP profession research priorities. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic rigor, emphasizing interprofessional collaboration.
