Victoria Bellinger Strait

Victoria Bellinger Strait is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Cosmic Dawn Center (DAWN) within the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on high-redshift galaxy formation and evolution using data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), with particular emphasis on the CANUCS survey project.

Her primary research interests include:

• High-redshift galaxy formation and evolution
• Gravitational lensing and mass modeling
• UV luminosity functions in the early universe
• Star formation in low-mass galaxies
• Properties of galaxies during the cosmic dawn
• Dust and gas conditions in early galaxies

Dr. Strait's recent work has centered on analyzing data from the CANUCS project and other JWST observations. Her research examines galaxy properties at redshifts z > 5, particularly focusing on the UV luminosity function, star formation rates, and physical conditions in early galaxies. She has made significant contributions to understanding the decline in galaxy space density at very high redshifts and the properties of galaxies during the epoch of reionization. Her publications demonstrate expertise in gravitational lensing modeling and JWST data analysis across multiple instruments including NIRCam, NIRISS, and NIRSpec.

Her scientific work has resulted in numerous publications in leading astrophysics journals including Astronomy & Astrophysics, Astrophysical Journal, and Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
