Victor Moberger is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Intellectual and Social Studies at Umeå University, specializing in Philosophy. His research focuses on metaethics, moral nihilism, and critical thinking, with particular emphasis on reinterpreting Mackie's error theory and exploring normative ethics. He holds a PhD in Practical Philosophy from Uppsala University (2018) and contributed to the Swedish Research Council-funded project 'What if Nothing Matters? Nihilism and its Implications' at Stockholm University (2020–22).
His academic work bridges metaethics and normative theory, addressing topics like moral fictionalism, robust normativity, and the queerness objection. He co-edited Theories of Justice and Rights (Oxford UP, 2024) and publishes in journals like Ratio. Teaching areas include ethics, political philosophy, and critical reasoning strategies.
Recent publications (2023–2024) analyze nihilism's implications, ethical impossibility results, and responses to Mackie's critiques. His work challenges traditional metaethical frameworks while engaging in constructive dialogue with contemporary debates.
