Dr. Victor Acosta, PhD, is a researcher at the University of New Mexico (UNM) affiliated with the Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM). His work bridges experimental atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics, condensed-matter physics, quantum information science, and biomedical imaging.
He specializes in utilizing color centers in diamond as quantum sensors to investigate magnetic phenomena across physical, chemical, and biological systems. His research has earned recognition through prestigious awards, including the 2024 Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation's Experimental Physics Investigator award and the 2024 NIH Director's New Innovator Award.
