Dr. Vicky Bamsey is an Associate Professor in Education and Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience at the Plymouth Institute of Education, part of the School of Society and Culture within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business at the University of Plymouth. She leads the PGCert National Award for SEN Coordination and teaches Early Childhood Studies and Education. Her roles emphasize enhancing educational practices and student support.
Her research focuses on inclusive education, special educational needs coordination, and interventions for reading difficulties, as evidenced by her supervision of E. Unlu’s 2023 thesis on responding to reading difficulties across professional perspectives. She also engages with educational policy and teacher training to improve accessibility in early childhood contexts.
