Vicki Bowyer

Vicki Bowyer serves as Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health. She transitioned to academia in 2021 after extensive NHS clinical experience, most recently as Interim Head of Clinical Operations for an acute Trust during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Her expertise spans adult nursing education with specialized focus on clinical leadership development and cardiac care pathways. She implements innovative experiential learning through Experts by Experience partnerships across nursing programs, emphasizing real-world application in interventional cardiology and hybrid procedures. Current responsibilities include leading Year 3 curriculum for the BSc Adult Nursing program and designing clinical placements that bridge theoretical knowledge with acute care practice.

Bowyer previously developed the Foundation Degree Nursing Associate curriculum with integrated patient-centered learning frameworks. Her advisory work focuses on optimizing clinical site management systems and preparing nursing students for complex healthcare environments through structured placement rotations and operational leadership training.
