Vibert Nicolas is a Senior Researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), affiliated with the Cognition and Learning Research Center (CeRCA/MSHS) at the University of Poitiers. His research focuses on cognitive processes underlying visual search for verbal information, including eye movements during text comprehension, effects of aging and psychiatric disorders (e.g., OCD, schizophrenia), and applied studies on video game ergonomics. He employs behavioral experiments, eye-tracking, and EEG techniques.
Key research interests include:
- Visual search mechanisms and their developmental trajectory from childhood to adulthood
- Clinical applications in psychiatry using eye-tracking paradigms
- Optimization of visual interfaces in digital environments
Recent articles highlight studies on reading constraints, OCD-related attentional biases, and source integration in conflicting texts. Collaborators include prominent figures like Prof. Nematollah Jaafari (psychiatry) and Prof. Jason Braasch (cognitive science). His work bridges basic cognitive science with clinical and applied domains.
