Veronica Busa

Dr. Veronica Busa is a Research Fellow at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), affiliated jointly with the Odom, Frye, and Goncalves laboratories. Her work focuses on computational investigations into cancer evasion mechanisms, particularly in naked mole rats. She transitioned to this role in September 2022 after determining bench work was unsuitable for her skills.

• BSc in Human Biology and Interdisciplinary Humanities, University of Texas (2013-2017)

Her research integrates computational genomics, RNA biology, and cancer mechanisms. Primary interests include RNA chaperone proteins (undergraduate focus), RNA regulation/decay (PhD work), and computational modeling of skin cancer resistance in naked mole rats. She employs exclusively computational methods due to self-described limitations in wet-lab techniques.
