Vernon Valentine Palmer is the Thomas Pickles Chair and Co-Director of the Eason Weinmann Center for Comparative Law at Tulane Law School. With over 50 years of academic experience across global institutions, his work focuses on comparative law, European civil law, and mixed jurisdictions.

Palmer's publications include Mixed Jurisdictions Worldwide and Through the Codes Darkly: Slave Law and Civil Law in Louisiana. His recent work analyzes mixed jurisdictions' evolution and cross-cultural legal harmonization challenges.
