Verena Stadlbauer

Verena Stadlbauer is a researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Wels, affiliated with both the Center of Excellence Food Technology and Nutrition and the Center of Excellence Medical Engineering/TIMed Center. Holding a BSc and MSc degree, she has maintained an active research profile since 2013 with ongoing projects extending through 2029.

Her research program focuses on the biochemical interactions between plant-derived compounds and metabolic pathways, particularly examining how herbal extracts influence glucose metabolism, inflammation responses, and intestinal health. Dr. Stadlbauer employs advanced techniques including fluorescence microscopy, high-content screening platforms, and in vitro cellular models to investigate insulin-mimetic properties of natural compounds and their therapeutic potential.

Her scholarly output demonstrates consistent contributions to understanding how plant extracts modulate NF-κB signaling, improve epithelial barrier function, reduce oxidative stress, and influence GLUT4 translocation. Her work bridges nutritional science with medical applications, particularly in developing natural alternatives for diabetes management and gut health interventions.
