Bernhard Blank-Landeshammer is a Research Professor and Principal Investigator (PI) at the University of Applied Sciences Wels, leading the Josef Ressel Centre for Innovation in Bioavailability Research. He is affiliated with the Research Center Wels and its Centers of Excellence in Food Technology and Nutrition, as well as Medical Engineering/TIMed Center Feed and Food. His work integrates interdisciplinary research with institutions like PM International AG and Interreg Österreich-Tschechien.
Education: MSc and Dr.rer.nat. (PhD).
Research Interests
His research focuses on enhancing bioavailability of nutrients via plant extracts and micellization, evaluating antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of herbal compounds, and developing sustainable food alternatives. He employs in vitro and in vivo methodologies to study oxidative stress mitigation, epithelial barrier function, and intestinal health. His work bridges food technology, medical engineering, and nutrition, with a strong emphasis on translational applications.
