Vera Hoelscher is a Lecturer in Marketing at the School of Business and Management, Royal Holloway, University of London. Her research focuses on ethical consumption, digital networks, gender, and entrepreneurship. She leads projects such as the MANgagement Project, exploring queer perspectives on marriage norms, and co-leads a research cluster on digital inequality and cyberactivism. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to fair trade and ethical practices.
Teaching responsibilities include modules on Services Marketing (MN5054) and Digital Marketing (MN2325/2326K), alongside dissertation supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Vera is a core member of the Centre for Research into Sustainability and has organized international conferences on topics like the lifecycle of electronic products (2014–2015). Recent projects include The Paternity Project (2024–present) and Green IT in a Digital Generation (2014–2015).
Her research outputs span peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Information Systems Journal), books (e.g., Sage Handbook of Consumer Culture), and public-facing articles like The Conversation. Collaborative work includes studies on mumpreneurs’ digital strategies and AI-driven drone ecosystems.
