Vera Gretges

Vera Gretges serves as a research assistant and doctoral student at the Chair of Modern Church History within the Faculty of Protestant Theology at the University of Bonn since 2022. Previously, she held a comparable position at the University of Basel from 2020 to 2022, establishing her academic trajectory in Church History with specialized focus on Reformation and Enlightenment periods.

Her educational foundation includes:

• 2014-2020: Protestant Theology studies at Georg-August-University Göttingen
• 2020: First Theological Examination

Gretges' research centers on 18th-century theological developments, particularly Pietism and manuscript analysis spanning the 17th-19th centuries. Her doctoral project critically examines Johann Gottfried Herder's influential work in Bückeburg (1771-1776), with related conference presentations at the Historical Commission for Lower Saxony and Bremen and the International Herder Society demonstrating her scholarly engagement.
