Vera Cathrin Simoneit serves as a Research Fellow at the Department of Organization, Copenhagen Business School, where she investigates how field-level financial structures impact organizational inequality within universities through the Carlsberg Foundation-funded GRAND project.
Her educational foundation includes an MSc in Business, Language and Culture: Diversity & Change Management from Copenhagen Business School.
Simoneit's research synthesizes Institutional Theory with critical examinations of inequality and temporality, focusing on how large-scale grants reconfigure power dynamics in academic institutions. Her work interrogates the intersection of financial resource allocation, spatial dimensions of organizing, and temporal aspects of institutional change, revealing how structural shifts perpetuate or mitigate inequities in knowledge production systems.
Her publication trajectory demonstrates consistent advancement in institutional scholarship, with recent work establishing frameworks for transformative innovation policy while dissecting spatial, structural, and methodological dimensions of organizational power. This research program bridges theoretical institutionalism with practical implications for university governance and funding models.
Simoneit supervises bachelor projects in Organizational Behavior and contributes to the OT/Impact Research group, building on prior experience as a Research Assistant for the Organizing for Transformative Innovation initiative, Center for Organization & Time, and Actionable Futures Project.
Her collaborative work within the Center for Organizational Research on Impact (CORI) and GRAND project establishes her as an emerging scholar in institutional analysis of academic organizations, with particular expertise in financial structuring and power redistribution.
