Venesa G. Matthews

Venesa G. Matthews holds a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from St. Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the same institution. She currently serves as a Learning Specialist at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM), supporting DO and MBS learners in their academic journey. Her career spans roles in higher education and the non-profit sector, including key positions at Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio College, and the University of Texas at San Antonio.

She was honored with the 2016 NISOD Excellence Award for her contributions to academic advising. At UIWSOM, she focuses on supporting students in a highly specialized academic environment, leveraging her background in higher education administration and non-profit work.
