Velga Sudraba is an Assistant Professor at the Riga Stradiņš University in the Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy, actively contributing to psychology, health sciences, and addiction research. As a Latvian Council of Science expert (2016–2019, 2020–2023), she focuses on SDGs 3 (Health) and 5 (Education). Her work bridges clinical practice, research, and policy.

- Research Themes: Substance abuse, stress coping, resilience, Type D personality, psychosocial functioning, and adherence in cardiovascular patients.
