Prof. Dr.-Ing. Veit Senner holds the Chair of Sport Equipment and Sport Materials at the TUM School of Engineering and Design. His research focuses on human-sports equipment-environment interactions, including biomechanics, ergonomics, safety, and subjective experience. He studied mechanical engineering and sports science at TUM, completing a doctorate in product development and a second degree in high-performance sports science. He has worked in industry at TÜV Süddeutschland and serves as a scientific advisor for sports injury litigation and patent disputes. He chairs the ISO standards committee for snow sports and led the Department of Sports and Health Sciences as Vice Dean (2005–2009). Currently, he is the Academic Program Director for Mechanical Engineering study courses (2022–2024).
His academic career includes over 104 Scopus-indexed publications (H-index 15) and supervision of 21 completed PhDs with 10 ongoing. Research areas span sports technology optimization, injury prevention, and biomechanical simulations. He leads projects like the 3D Orthosis, Sky-Running, and BIOSS initiatives, focusing on wearable tech, injury mitigation, and material science applications.
