معرفی
Veerle Janssens is a Professor at KU Leuven's Faculty of Medicine, leading the Laboratory for Protein Phosphorylation and Proteomics. She contributes to the KU Leuven Brain Institute, Institute for Rare Diseases, and Cancer Institute, focusing on PP2A phosphatase's role in disease mechanisms.
- Head of Laboratory for Protein Phosphorylation and Proteomics
- Promotor for projects on Houge-Janssens syndrome (HJS2) and KRAS signaling inhibition
- Co-promotor for Flow Cytometry core facility projects
Her research spans PP2A-related neurodevelopmental disorders (Houge-Janssens syndrome), cancer signaling in hepatocellular and uterine cancers, and therapeutic targeting of phosphatase activity. Recent work explores liquid-liquid phase separation modulation, hedgehog pathway regulation, and neuroprotection strategies.
Supervised advisees include Remmerie, M., who studied PPP2R1A mutations in uterine cancer. Her publications highlight PP2A's involvement in diverse diseases, from ALS to fibrosis, with a focus on signal transduction, genetic mutations, and biomarker discovery.
