Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya is a Turkish academic affiliated with Yıldız Technical University, currently serving as Vice Rector for Education since September 2024. He holds the position of Professor in the Department of Mathematics Engineering under the Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering.
Education:
- BSc in Mathematics, Fırat University
- MSc and PhD in Mathematics, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University
His research spans interdisciplinary areas including Philosophy of Mathematics, Mathematical Logic, Nonlinear Systems, and Dynamic Systems, with a focus on topics like Ergodic Theory, Functional Analysis, and Mathematics Education. He has contributed extensively to academic discourse through 130+ publications and 8 authored/editored books.
Prof. Karakaya has supervised 8 master's and 15 doctoral students, led 18 projects, and participated in numerous international conferences as organizing committee chair, honorary president, or scientific board member. He previously served as Rector of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University (2015-2022) and currently contributes to Turkey's Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK).
