Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kazankaya is a full-time Professor at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture. He has served as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and previously held roles such as Rectorate Deputy and Institute Director at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University. His academic career spans over three decades, with a focus on fruit cultivation, breeding, and plant biotechnology.

- BSc in Horticulture, Atatürk University (1984–1988)
Research Interests:
Prof. Kazankaya’s research is centered on fruit cultivation and breeding, viticulture, and plant biotechnology. He has conducted extensive work on walnut, mulberry, rose hip, pomegranate, and almond species. His work includes the development of new cultivars, in vitro propagation techniques, and the evaluation of genetic resources for stress tolerance and nutritional quality.
His recent publications reflect a strong emphasis on biotechnology applications, genotype evaluation, and sustainable fruit production, particularly in the context of Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Turkey.

Graduate Advising & Projects:
He has supervised more than 30 MSc and PhD theses, focusing on genotype selection, molecular characterization, and sustainable production of horticultural crops. Projects include TÜBİTAK, university, and ministry-supported studies on walnut, rose hip, pomegranate, and almond breeding and conservation.
Institutional Roles:
Prof. Kazankaya has held key administrative positions including Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at both Van Yüzüncü Yıl University and Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, and Rectorate Deputy at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University.
