Vassilios Papadopoulos

Vassilios Papadopoulos serves as Dean of the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (formerly USC School of Pharmacy) and Interim Dean of the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. He holds the John Stauffer Dean’s Chair in Pharmaceutical Sciences and is a Professor of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Southern California.

• PhD from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris) and undergraduate pharmacy degree from University of Athens
• Previously led research at McGill University Health Centre and Georgetown University

Research Focus: Over 350 publications and two dozen patents on steroid biosynthesis mechanisms in adrenal glands, gonads, and brain. Investigates regulation by hormones, chemicals, and environmental factors like phthalates with applications in reproduction, aging, cancer, and neurological disorders.

Academic Leadership: Expanded pharmacy education through new degree programs, state-of-the-art facilities, and diversity initiatives. Directed $300M+ research grants at McGill and established training centers.
