Professor Georgios Vassilikogiannakis is a faculty member at the University of Crete, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. He obtained his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 1998 under Prof. Michael Orfanopoulos, focusing on mechanistic studies of electrophilic additions. After postdoctoral work at Scripps Research Institute (1999-2002) with Prof. K.C. Nicolaou, he advanced through the ranks at UOC, becoming Full Professor in 2013.
Research Interests:
- Total synthesis of biologically active natural products
- Sustainable chemistry using singlet oxygen
- Development of continuous flow reactors for gas-liquid reactions

- European Research Council (ERC) consolidating grant recipient
