Vasil Tsvetkov

Vasil Tsvetkov serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) within the Faculty of Geodesy, Department of Applied Geodesy. He maintains regular office hours in Cabinet 315a on Mondays (13:00-14:00) and Wednesdays (9:00-10:00), actively engaging with students and colleagues.

Dr. Tsvetkov earned his Doctorate through the Higher Educational Certification Commission on August 29, 2005, building upon his Master of Science in Engineering Geodesy from UACEG (July 7, 1998). Proficient in English and Russian, he contributes to both academic and practical domains of geodetic science.

His research program focuses on statistical methods in geodesy, particularly examining precise leveling networks, error propagation, and adjustment calculations. Dr. Tsvetkov has developed innovative approaches to refraction corrections, network optimization, and statistical testing specifically tailored for high-precision geodetic measurements.

Analysis of his recent publications reveals consistent focus on improving leveling network accuracy through novel weighting methods, addressing systematic errors, and developing specialized adjustment algorithms. His work bridges theoretical statistics with practical surveying applications, particularly in infrastructure and environmental monitoring contexts.

Dr. Tsvetkov supervises various geodetic activities and has developed comprehensive educational materials for Engineering Geodesy courses. His practical experience spans numerous significant projects including Sofia Airport runway construction, wastewater treatment facilities, hydroelectric power plants, and extensive infrastructure development across Bulgaria from 2005-2019.

His laboratory work primarily involves precision surveying equipment and statistical analysis of geodetic measurements, with recent focus on Black Sea level monitoring and photovoltaic power plant geodetic design.
