معرفی
Assoc. Prof. Borislav Alexandrov is a leading academic in geodesy and geoinformatics at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia, Bulgaria. As Head of the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, he specializes in marine geodesy, hydrography, and polar research, with extensive fieldwork in Antarctica since 1998.
- Director of the geodetic team at the Bulgarian Antarctic Base "St. Kliment Ohridski"
- Conducted precise geodetic measurements and GNSS studies across six Antarctic expeditions
- Developed the first Bulgarian tide gauge station on Livingston Island
Research Focus
His work spans:
- Polar Geodesy: Monitoring climate change impacts through Antarctic geospatial surveys
- Geodynamics: Analyzing tectonic movements in Southwest Bulgaria using GPS networks
- Hydrography: Innovating techniques for sea level and coastal monitoring
- Instrumentation: Advancing calibration methods for geodetic equipment
Academic Contributions
He has shaped geospatial education at UACEG, integrating field research into curricula, and led the establishment of geodetic infrastructure in extreme polar environments. His publications reflect interdisciplinary applications of geodesy in environmental science and engineering.
