Varodi Codruța Mihaela

Dr. Varodi Codruța Mihaela is a Senior Researcher (Cercetător consacrat - CS II) at the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCD TIM) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She holds a PhD in Chemistry (2016) and a Master's degree in Chemistry (1999) from Babeș-Bolyai University.

Her research focuses on applied electrochemistry, modified electrodes, isotope separation, chromatographic analysis, and effects of electromagnetic radiation on plant metabolites. She specializes in developing graphene-based nanomaterials for pollution detection and optimizing cryogenic isotope separation systems.

Key research trends include: (1) Cryogenic isotope separation using cascaded columns with shared vacuum jackets and condensers; (2) Advanced electrochemical biosensors combining graphene and metal nanoparticles for pharmaceutical pollutant detection; (3) Microwave radiation effects on essential oils and secondary metabolites in aromatic plants.

She leads multidisciplinary projects involving mathematical modeling of complex separation systems, development of novel electrocatalytic detection methods, and investigation of microwave-induced biochemical changes. Her work contributes to both academic knowledge and industrial applications in isotope technology and environmental monitoring.
