Vanja Baltic is a Research Fellow at the University of Bologna's Department of the Arts, with a joint PhD from the University of Bologna (Visual, Performing and Media Arts) and the University of Antwerp (Theatre Science and Intermediality, Faculty of Arts). She leads the interdisciplinary project Abulafia per la biblioteca Eco, studying Umberto Eco's book collection and creating intertextual pathways for his virtual library under Prof. Riccardo Fedriga. Her work bridges contemporary theatre analysis, Greek tragedy, and intermedial research.

Research Interests: Focuses on tragic excess in contemporary theatre, dramaturgy, and intertextuality. Explores the aesthetic dimensions of theatre direction through figures like Jan Fabre and Romeo Castellucci. Collaborates with institutions like ERT-Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione and Santarcangelo Festival.
Teaching & Outreach: Serves as a teaching tutor for courses like Dramaturgy and supports final exam preparation for the DAMS BA program. Assisted in directing Prof. Claudio Longhi’s Istruzioni per non morire in pace (2016).
