Dr. Vandana Gulati is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at the University of New England's School of Science and Technology, jointly contributing to the Medical Program with the University of Newcastle. She holds multidisciplinary qualifications in pharmacy, nutritional medicine, and life sciences, with a PhD investigating Aboriginal Australian plants for type 2 diabetes management. Her career includes pharmaceutical research in India, postdoctoral work in microbiology at Swinburne University, and prior academic roles at Endeavour College of Natural Health.
Research focuses on integrative approaches to health, particularly:
- Antidiabetic and bioactive properties of native Australian/Indian plants
- Microbiome interactions (gut-lung axis)
- Integrative oncology
- Evidence-based complementary therapies
- Nutritional interventions for metabolic disorders
