Valeska Minkowski

Valeska Minkowski is an Adjunct Professor at Furman University, affiliated with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. She operates Urban Seas Aquaculture, an indoor aquaculture facility promoting sustainable fisheries through shrimp production. Her office is located in Plyer Hall 119D.

Research Interests: Valeska’s work bridges ecological resilience and human sustainability. She previously focused on coral reef health and the role of Diadema antillarium in restoration efforts. Post-PhD, her research shifted toward land-based aquaculture systems, emphasizing their role in reducing overfishing and integrating ecological, social, and economic values for sustainable development.
