Valeriu Ioan-Franc

Born in Bucharest in 1949, Dr. Valeriu Ioan-Franc is an economist, researcher, and PhD in Economics who has served as scientific coordinator of doctoral theses and as associate professor or visiting professor at leading universities in Romania and abroad. He has held significant leadership positions in Romanian economic research institutions, most notably as Acting Director General (2008) and Deputy Director General (2000-2020) of the National Institute for Economic Research 'Costin C. Kirițescu' (INCE).

His research interests span economics, cultural studies, and European integration, with particular focus on Romanian economic development within global contexts. He has initiated and managed significant projects including 'The Enhancement of Cultural Identities in Global Processes' (2010-2013) and 'Romanian Culture and European Cultural Models: Research, Synchronization, Sustainability' (2013-2016) for the Romanian Academy.

Dr. Ioan-Franc has received numerous prestigious awards recognizing his contributions to economic science and Romanian culture, including the 'Academic Merit' from the Romanian Academy, the highest national academic recognition. He was admitted to the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences on February 25, 2021.
