Valeriia Hulkovych is a Researcher and Doctoral Student at the Chair of Political Didactics and Political Education at the University of Hildesheim, specializing in extracurricular political education, emotions in political education, political EU education, and separatist movements in the EU.

She investigates the effectiveness of game-based learning approaches and the development of monitoring systems to assess political education outcomes.
Her recent publications examine monitoring systems for political education in Germany and evaluate digital educational tools like the "Unsolved" puzzle station for UN education. These works contribute to evidence-based practices in political education and highlight the importance of data-driven approaches in educational assessment.
