Valerie Shapiro, PhD, is a faculty member at the University of California Berkeley, focusing on the prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral problems in children and youth through science-based community approaches. Her work emphasizes program implementation, sustainability, and outcome assessment in school and out-of-school time (OST) settings.
