Valerie DiVito serves as a Lecturer at the Center for Biotechnology Education within Johns Hopkins University's Advanced Academic Programs (AAP), teaching graduate courses in Molecular Biology and Systems and Integrative Physiology at the Baltimore campus (36 Levi Hall, 3400 North Charles Street).
She holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Cellular & Molecular Biology from Georgetown University, complemented by a post-doctoral fellowship at Walter Reed Army Institute focusing on Brain Dysfunction and Blast Injury.
Her research spans interdisciplinary domains including Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Systems Biology, and Environmental Health, reflecting her dual expertise in academic biotechnology education and military medical research.
Dr. DiVito currently serves as Civilian Deputy Director of the Military Operational Medicine Research Program (Fort Detrick, MD), with prior leadership roles as Director of the U.S. Army Environmental Health Program and Acting Director of the Systems Biology Collaboration Center at USACEHR.
