Valeria Rueda is a Professor of Economics at the University of Nottingham's School of Economics, with affiliations at CEPR and CAGE. She holds a PhD in Economics from Sciences Po (2016), preceded by studies at École Normale Supérieure and the Paris School of Economics. Her research focuses on Development Economics, Economic History, Gender, and Political Economy, particularly exploring long-term cultural and institutional determinants of inequality. During her 2024-2025 visiting professorship at Lyon’s CERGIC, she collaborates with researchers on quantitative history, gender issues, and natural resource economics. She actively participates in seminars and engages with students through master’s programs. Her work bridges historical analysis with contemporary policy questions, emphasizing interdisciplinary methods.
