Valentina Tonei

Valentina Tonei is an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Economics at the University of Southampton's School of Economic, Social and Political Science. She holds a PhD from the University of York (2017) and has held postdoctoral roles at the British Academy (2017-2019) and Ireland's Economic and Social Research Institute (2016). Her research focuses on Health Economics, Family Economics, and Applied Microeconometrics, addressing topics like parental investment determinants, gender stereotypes, and health shocks' well-being impacts. She teaches Quantitative Modelling in Economics, Economic Analysis, and Health Economics and Policy courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Health Economics and European Economic Review.
