Valentina Milano

Dr. Valentina Milano is a Tenured Senior Lecturer in Public Law and Deputy Director at the University of the Balearic Islands. She holds a law degree from the University of Pavia, a master’s in International and European Public Law from Paris XI University, and a Ph.D. in Law from UIB. Her professional background includes over a decade as a UN legal officer specializing in human trafficking and gender discrimination, with field missions across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Her research examines human trafficking, gender-based violence, migration policy, and minors' access to online pornography. She directs the UIB course on social intervention in trafficking/prostitution and co-leads the Interdisciplinary Laboratory on Rights and Freedoms. She advises regional/national governments on legislation, including Spain’s 2024 human trafficking bill, and serves on the Committee of Experts for Safe Digital Environments for Children.
