Valentina Kutyifa, M.D., Ph.D. serves as Professor of Medicine and Director of Clinical Trials at the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center, University of Rochester Medical Center. She concurrently holds the position of Director of the Clinical Trial Enrolling Unit within Cardiology and serves as Vice Chair for Clinical Research at the Department of Medicine, overseeing clinical research operations across 14 divisions with nearly 2000 faculty and staff members.

Dr. Kutyifa leads multiple major clinical trials including the BUDAPEST-CRT Upgrade study and MADIT-S-ICD trial. Her research group has received substantial funding for investigations into cardiac resynchronization therapy optimization, wearable defibrillator applications, and risk prediction models for ventricular arrhythmias. Current grant activities focus on sex differences in device therapy outcomes and innovative approaches to sudden cardiac death prevention.
She directs the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center's trial operations and leads the Clinical Trial Enrolling Unit, coordinating multicenter studies across North America and Europe including the WEARIT-II-EUROPE registry and HINODE trial.
