Valentina Alfarano

Valentina Alfarano is a Research Fellow in Linguistics at the University of Oslo's Faculty of Humanities, Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies. Her postdoctoral project focuses on comparative-historical analysis of clausal structure in Reefs-Santa Cruz languages. She holds a PhD from INALCO (2021), completing the first grammar of Nalögo. Previously, she taught Linguistics at Sorbonne Nouvelle University. Her research interests include Oceanic/Austronesian languages, typology, and language documentation. Supported by an MSCA Individual Fellowship, her work emphasizes endangered languages and historical linguistic analysis.
