Vakola Maria

Vakola Maria is an Associate Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), affiliated with the School of Business and the Department of Marketing and Communication. She serves as Deputy Director of the department and the Postgraduate Program in Human Resources Management. Previously, she was Head of the Human Resources Laboratory and AUEB’s representative to the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation. Her academic career includes roles as a lecturer and visiting staff across European universities.

Dr. Maria holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology. Her research focuses on organizational change, human resources management, and workplace well-being, with publications in journals like Journal of Applied Psychology and Human Relations. She co-founded the International Forum for Psychology of Organizational Change (IFPOC) and has led over 20 years of research projects funded by European and local institutions.

She teaches Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, and Change Management at undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive levels. Her awards include recognition for teaching excellence and innovation in HR practices through initiatives like the non-profit job-pairs.gr. She actively bridges academia and industry via executive courses, consulting, and editorship roles in journals like the Journal of Applied Behavioural Sciences.
