Assoc. Prof. Dr. VEYSEL GÖGER is an Associate Professor at the History Department of Bingöl University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Modern History from Marmara University (2014) and has served as a Research Assistant (2009-2014), Assistant Professor (2014-2020), and currently as Associate Professor since 2020. His research focuses on Ottoman military history, historiography, and chronicle analysis.

Research Interests: Ottoman military tactics during castle sieges (16th century), analysis of Ottoman chronicles like 'Vekāyi'-i Pür-Sanâyi'-i Bedâyi'', Ottoman historiography's literary traditions, and the intersection of warfare and religious practices. These themes are explored through his two authored books and numerous peer-reviewed articles.
Recent Scholarship Trends: Recent works emphasize the socio-cultural dimensions of Ottoman military campaigns, including soldier diaries, religious practices during sieges, and the evolution of artillery use. His 2024 article on mosque governance regulations highlights his expanding focus on Ottoman administrative policies.
