V Chandrasekar is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University and a University Distinguished Professor. He serves as CO-PI of the CSU-CHILL radar facility and as Deputy Director and Research Director of the NSF Engineering Research Center, CASA (Center for Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere).
Education:

Research Interests: Dr. Chandrasekar's research spans Radar Systems and Networking, Radar Meteorology, RF Communication Systems, and Signal Processing. He has made pioneering contributions in Polarimetric Radar Observations of the Atmosphere and has extensive experience in Radar System Design, Radar Network Development, DSP Design, and RF Communication Systems. His work also extends to Image Processing, Neural Network Applications, and Large Scale System Simulation.

Advising and Grants: Dr. Chandrasekar has directed the Research Experience for Undergraduate Program at Colorado State University. He has been a PI or Co-PI on several national programs including the Advanced Communication Technology Satellite (ACTS) program at CSU, DARPA NGI program, NASA TRMM mission, and the future NASA GPM mission.
Labs and Teams: He plays a key role in maintaining the CSU-CHILL radar facility as one of the most advanced meteorological radar systems in the world. He is also the Deputy Director and Research Director of the NSF Engineering Research Center, CASA, where he provides leadership for the sensing research thrust.
