Dr. Uygar Kanli, a faculty member at Gazi University Faculty of Education, has dedicated his career to Physics Education and Science Communication. With a PhD in Physics Education from Gazi University (2007), he has focused on improving science teaching methods, informal learning environments (e.g., science centers), and constructivist approaches. He has coordinated national projects like the "Polatlı Municipality Science Center" initiative and contributed to TÜBİTAK-funded programs.
His research explores the impact of science centers on educational outcomes, pedagogical modeling of exhibits, and professional development for teachers. He has published extensively on topics such as astronomy teaching, earthquake physics education, and the use of 5E/7E learning models. His work emphasizes experiential learning, science literacy, and reducing conceptual misconceptions in physics.
Dr. Kanli has advised 8 thesis projects and leads the Gazi University AstroGAZİ community, promoting astronomy outreach. He has participated in projects like BİLMER (TÜBİTAK 1001) to strengthen school-science center collaborations. His publications combine physics pedagogy with interdisciplinary approaches, including educational technology, curriculum design, and science communication.
