Uthpala Senarathne Tennakoon

Dr. Uthpala Senarathne Tennakoon is an Associate Professor in Human Resources at the Bissett School of Business, Mount Royal University, Calgary. Her academic background includes a PhD in Human Resources & Organizational Dynamics from the University of Calgary, an MBA in Management of Technology from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from the same institution. She combines expertise in business, technology, and management accounting through her academic and professional work.

Research interests: Uthpala investigates work/nonwork interactions and their implications for individuals, organizations, and society. Her PhD research focused on how information and communication technology (ICT) affects work-life balance, and she currently explores the Return on Investment (ROI) of life-friendly workplace practices.

Professional affiliations: She is a fully qualified management accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK. Prior to academia, she led a conglomerate's new business ventures division and worked as a business analyst for a development financial institution.
